Re: Tropics
OMG. Look the storm surge has begun to rush in through bottom floor of this Naples, FL condo. There’s reports that people are in water up to their chins inside of their homes. They’re asking for helicopter evacs ASAP!

We were in the eye wall of Cat. 4 #Hurricane #Ian for over 5 hours and the back side was the worst.

Re: Tropics
The angle of approach, the slow approach, over 90+* water, and a wicked jet streak to the north placing Ian in the right rear quadrant was pretty much the worst case scenario

Not surprising, given all the footage.
My father in law in Fort Myers Beach is ok, but has a very similar story to sroc’s friend. I imagine there will be lots of folks with that story unfortunately. Just glad he survived.

Horrendous news likely going to continue coming out of Florida as the sun rises.
41K line worker and special personal to help with clean up, they need the Army Corps of Engineers in there pronto.
Sanibel Island bridge collapsed into teh causeway and there is no way on or off the island. It is destroyed by all reports as is Captiva.

so glad to hear...that first video I posted from FB was a video of Cape Coral.
