This would be great - correlation does not mean it will happen but it is exciting to see... analogs popping out winters from research 57-58, 86-87, 2002-03, 2009-2010

Random question and hate to be this guy but I am supposed to go into the meatpacking district of Manhattan for dinner Saturday night. Any of our city folk on the board know if that area is flood prone, or if there are any areas around there that I should avoid should the city get hammered during the day Saturday?

Thanks

Yes but if you look at H5 there are much more subtle changes and as we all know small changes at H5 lead to very large changes at the surface.

Next weeks forecasted storm winds - but the wind barb directions is what is to look at = would mean coastal flooding issues and on top .....a FULL MOON (Super Moon?)
Would spell trouble for the shore.

Hey BK,

The tough isn't really specifically defined and I think the concept of tough could range anywhere from mild to severe and could be material in nature or more significant. But I'd say the bad omen is more 'folklore' these days since it rains in October all the time in many places. But the bad omen idea came from Israel where it doesn't rain a lot. Over here its more said to just express how we bummed we are that we're getting rained out. Here's a link to a quick recap if you're interested.

Sigh, was hoping could salvage part of the day but looks like moderate to heavy rain moving in and looks like it will last all day (ending 6pm or so, then misty spray) by looks radar, looks like next sat and sun big storm too, and the 14th! Well forget any fall plans this year I guess for anyone. I give up! Sorry for the complaining but this is very frustrating all the wasted fall weekends (plus I won't be getting any new inventory for the holidays which is going to be devastating for my side business, I bank on all the saturday sales in the fall (usually I come home with a few thousand of merch, you would be surprised what people sell having no idea. And no I do not think it is wrong as they should have done research if they wanted to get top dollar.) On the plus side one place I go to every year little falls is having their's tomorrow (instead of today). Aberdeen NJ is also having their first, its still on for today but I decided not to go as I doubt many peoplle will actually be out. I guarentee it rains every weekend until it starts snowing then we can have snow every weekend I hope. Yesterday would been 60-90 inches, would been epic. I swear if we see all this precip and then 0 snow (at least for coast.) I may just have to join OTI as the lunatic who lost it from too much rain.

LOL, jman, you are always welcome to join our ranks and CP and I will find a suitable position for you! Frankly, I think you are going to get epic snows this year , as well as all of us.No scientific proof of that, just a gut feeling from watching winters here for 63 years.Hope we get some good weekends so you can re-stock your shelves for the Holiday.

I hear ya. Our garage sale was rained out last spring and we were going to try and do another one this fall, but the way the weekends are going, may not be able to do it. Maybe we'll just put some items on FB Marketplace and save the rest for spring.

LOL, Kinda scared I have looked in there you guys can get pretty brutal (I know it's role play but still.) I hope so and yeah I am being pessamistic cuz im annoyed I am sitting on a sat inside at home AGAIN, I am not one to like to sit at home on the weekends. Hopefully we don't battle with warm air on the coast as we often do, lock lots of cold air in.

I need to move somewhere that it is warm all year (but can I sacrifice the snow, not really). It is what it is but its frustrating. Be careful with FB market, its so many scammers and more annoying and difficult than any platform. But it is cash in hand no taxes hahaha.

I got a chuckle out of this

Back in the 1990s, as then-Speaker Gingrich put it, Republicans could at least "afford to have five or six people be idiots."

There goes the anthill. Knocked over

Newark as we know is the worst airport..lol with the fiasco that happened on Friday. I thought United and the airport would be a mess having incoming flights and we would be delayed and never get home. WE GOT IN 55 MIN EARLY!! Loved our trip. Ireland is AMAZING..but needed to get home to my puppies!! On a side not our crawl space now dry but looks like a 4 inch water mark. That has happened only one other time in our 18 years in this house.

Nice, you are going to need to upload some pics from your trip! Also, I read back a few pages and saw you moved your son into college. Good luck to him!!

93 here!

Urgh..horrible..
Especially since I am dying froma bad sinus infection, the heat does not help me feel better but Dr. said not to turn AC on as it could make it worse.  Of course he forgot to call in my antibiotics and now the soonest I will be able to start it is Friday because I have to work past pharmacy closing time tomorrow night. Yes I am doing everything to get rid of it without but nothing is working.

Go out and get a Navage. Use it every night and add a few drops of 10% iodine. Just a few drops though. Light light tea color.
I have something similar a neti pot, thing is im so blocked up nothing will go through, it needs antibiotics at this point. the pressure is so bad ugg. Sorry I know this is banter. Even decongestants aren't working.

It is banter so if needed respond over here.  A neti pot is a passage lavage. The Navage system is an active lavage. It will force the soln through and actively suck it out. The neti pot relys on gravity alone.  Good luck. Hope you feel better.
