Light snow now in Piscataway. (8:45AM)

Looks like “heavier” snow is forming to the left of #NYC and slowly creeping its way to the area

Depends on your definition of “bust”. If that means relatively low snow totals for most on here, I’d say yes as I wouldn’t expect more than a couple inches for most people. If bust means forecast was overdone I wouldn’t really say that. This never looked like more than a 1-2” event northern areas, 2-4” central, 3-6” in South Jersey, and those amounts will likely be close even if at bottom of ranges.

I am in Edison, so I guess I am on the northern edge of central NJ and it is snowing but at the rate it is snowing now we would see less than an inch if it did this all day

Just started to flurry here.

Things are off to a GREAT start in coastal Monmouth County. Snow started by 7:30, the rate is moderate, and the size of the flakes has doubled from tiny to moderate in the past half hour. Already 1” on cold surfaces and a bit less than an inch on sidewalks and lesser used roads. Radar calling for maybe another 6 hours or so of moderate snow delivery, so hoping to hit 4” of new snow all tolled. Will accept 2+” as ‘decent’ and anything over 4” and I will be instantly exaggerating this storm into a legendary over-achiever.

Certainly possible. I don’t think anyone north of South Jersey will be overly impressed by this one. But best period for accumulating snow was supposed to be from late morning to early afternoon, so don’t give up hope yet! You still may get to 2”.  Lol.

First flakes falling here. More like someone shaking a dusty rag then actual snow but it's a start.

Cannot believe they cancelled school today in Bloomfield.

Congrats, and you guys thought you wouldn't see anything, NYC area is the only place not seeing anything it seems. I saw models though and they showed a area of dry air here. At least they did not cancel delay or early dismiss school here.

I have been saying we would get an inch or two and would be happy with it.

23 degrees at 9:32 in the Am, still had 2 1/2 inches of snow from the other day , close to a inch of new Snow, it is coming down a fine snow identical to the way it snowed the other day!

Haha where do you get this stuff from sometimes. It's been snowing here in NYC for at least an hour or so. While not heavy by any means, it's exactly what we expected (at least as of yesterday/last night). I can see an inch, maybe inch and a half if it continued at this rate until early afternoon, very similar to what we experienced Monday night into Tuesday morning.

While not terribly deep you seem to have kept a nice looking winterscape this season. I'm not jealous at all lol!

Looks like radar filling in to the south around the DC/VA area so storm might be strengthening and starting to wrap around. That could be good news for snow picking up in intensity later this morning. 27* still Light Snow here.

I’m at work in Clifton NJ light snow falling but not sticking to anything..

The h5 trough is already tilting on the negative side.  The higher these heights rise the better. This precip will probably continue to back build.

Light steady accumulating snow now here on LI

27* and snow is just starting to pick up in intensity a bit here. Still light but approaching moderate.

The surface low will probably drop 8-10mb in the next 5 hours or so. It will get tugged on by the h5 trough going negative. that inverted trough feature will probably develop southern parts of the area.

22 degrees, steady light snow, 1 inch OTG.Performing very well up here , I was only getting 1-2 inches as per NWS.Roads being salted.

Approaching 2" new snow. The snowman in the backyard appreciates the refresh!

Well Thats crazy I border the bronx and just now we started a flurry. So I did not realize NYC was reporting snow. Sharp cutoff and then snowing to the north, but now seems to be filling in. We will see.

So snowing good to the south and north of this area with flurries here (was expecting and hoping for a inch at the least. Cannot make this up, its like this area (all of westchester county) is in a snow hole more timjes than not. Was def not expect Orange Couty to see more than down here (so far), but good for them as they looked to be on the fringe as forecasted.

Just remember, most of the accumulating snow was to take place late morning to afternoon. We're not even there yet. That's not to say to expect more than was forecast (which are pretty low amounts outside of South Jersey), but don't assume you're getting no snow just because it's been light for the first couple hours.

Bring it home Doc. Make me regret leaving. Hated to leave our winter landscape as it was, a nice refresher works well.
