I am very close to issuing a special announcement regarding higher snow totals for NYC Metro. Will decide in 30 minutes or so.

Frank, JB saying the low is forming west. Wouldnt that be warmer for us?

I have a light coating here. I'm gonna try to get some sleep but I'm so excited right now. Lol. Hopefully wake up to some good snow! Good night all and good luck to everyone

It is east. It is along the coast of NC

This is going to be freaking epic monster miller A, radar is blowing up like a nuc bomb, crazy dynamics and a sub 980mb low tucked inside the BM. It really doesn't get much better than this!

Wow, look at the 994mb clipper in the northern plains. This definitely seems like it should track the storm a little more east

Parting shot - JB can be a smuck  - listen to Frank and not that overhyping moron at times.

I'm gonna catch some sleep myself so i can be up for the intense snowfall in the AM.

Current obs:
Light snow, already a heavy dusting. Temp 27. Winds NE at 6mph

Ok down to 28.5 now. And 26 degrees just to my west. NE wind at 6.

A couple observations:

1. This baby is getting ready to consolidate into one low level center off the coast of NC once all the energy finishes transferring over from the other upper level low over interior southeast.

2. Look at the 994mb potent clipper in the northern plains, which seems to have arrived a little sooner than expected. I feel like the combination of a low forming off the coast, the clipper in the northern plains, the 700 mb frontogenesis tracking toward eastern LI, and the frigid SST's right off our coastline, will make this storm track more easterly which would give it a track similar to what WPC was thinking

IMHuneducatedO I thought the same when I saw the possibility of that clipper pushing the system more easterly....this bitch is gonna dump on the coast I'm thinking...
