Snowing right now as hard if not harder then at any point last night. Not going to measure till it stops but looks like a solid 20+"

Really hard to measure with drifting but looks just short of a foot. Which would be in line with the cloest offical reporting station LGA, but noticable difference from CPK.

Yep, CP, to the victors belongs the spoils, as sickening as it is.
Guess that new GFS really does work.
Have you measured yet? Looks like 2 or 3 inches to me but lot's of blowing around here.

Very disappointed from this storm. You guys still did a great job. Just can't believe we didn't get the snow that was predicted. It seems that it certainly produced for those east of the city.

You are probably measuring a drift. I am in Brick, at the border with Point Pleasant, and have measured just under 4 inches average.
Yes, there are drifts up to 6-8 inches, but that doesn't count into snowfall totals.
Right now, snowing moderately temp. 24.

Light to moderate snow in Somerville continues. If we had been getting this since 8 last night, we might have some decent accumulation here.

3.0 inches as of 9am Doc, with ironically one of our heaviest bands going through now. Maybe we top at 3.5.
How 2 models could put us at over 40 inches yesterday, and that's what both the NAM and Euro were with ratios is perpelxing to put it kindly.

Went out to shovel at 8:00 with a neighbor. We take care of 6 houses on thg block all old folks. Had about 14 inches on the ground. Since then I've picked up about 2 inches more and still coming down hard. Windy and cold as shit, but cured my epic hangover real quick!! If this keeps up till after lunch I could be pushing 19 or 20 inches!

Just shoveled the driveway, hard to tell total amount I'd guess a foot maybe more in belford nj. Still snowing kinda hard maybe an 1 or 2 more inches will come down before it ends.

Excellent analysis doc and frank made mention last night in thread uno. You learn something new with these storms each and every time. If that inverted trough does not set up it is game on period for the entire area. I have recorded 4" . From friends and family they are all saying bust and breaking my chops and the euro should be thrown out. I told them I kind of f eel like a Denver Bronco fan of last year's super bowl so much excitement and potential to have it all not come to fruition. We learn from this and move onto the next storm. 4" is better than the 2001 debacle imho.

OK, CP, I'll wait for your final tally before I post.
I'd say we are 37 inches short as per NAM/EURO.
It happened with NEMO, it happened yesterday,LOL!

Listen I live in West Islip on the South shore of Long Island, hard to really say because of the drifts but there is alot of F---in snow out there. I would estimate about 12-15 inches.
You guys did a great job with this storm and there is no right or wrong because Mother Nature decides what she wants to do.
I appreciate all the time and effort you boys put into this and I will continue to listen to you forecasts and not the TV guys. Dont let anyone tell you anything negative. You predicted big and there is alot of snow in my world.
thanks again for all your work

Seems like GFS/HRRR/RAP was right, around 5" here and light/mod snow but close to dry west side I dont think it will last much longer.

Wow, I got buried here, cars stuck/abandoned all over the place. I've never seen a snowstorm like this before. Everything will be shut down here for the rest of the week.
Just kidding, lol, looks like I got around 2 inches. Just a normal day here.
