*Roidzilla 2017* - Final Call Snow Map / Observations

Impatiently waiting for the heavier bands to get up to here. Currently moderate snow and roughly 6"-7" otg.

WOWWWW flakes are so huge each flake is like .25" of snow. May get 600 inches of snow at this point. Bust!

This doesn't do the size of the flakes now Justice. It's really coming down:

These are like, mutant snow flakes. The size of baseballs. I'd go so far as to call them X-Snowflakes.

This is what one flake landing looks like at the moment.

Ripping snow here in Nutley. At this point I have given up with what's going to happen. I think Frank feels the same way. What a dynamic storm.

Frank that picture captures what I've got here too. Mutant X-snowflakes. I probably picked up another 1"/1.5" in the last 30 minutes.

The NWS just updated their forecast. Please read it. How infuriating. 4 to 14 inches???

Warning for heavy snow and sleet, which is in effect until
midnight EDT tonight. The Blizzard Warning has been cancelled.

* Locations...Interior southeastern and coastal southwestern
Connecticut, eastern portions of northeastern New Jersey, and
southern Westchester County.

* Hazard Types...Heavy Snow and Sleet, with near blizzard
conditions, mainly this morning.

* Snow and Sleet Accumulations...4 to 14 inches of snow and sleet
are expected, with highest amounts away from the coast.

In Manhattan temp dropped from 31 to 28 and all heavy snow now according to eye witness news

That kinda hurts..blizzard warning to winter weather advisory.

* Snowfall Rates...2 to 4 inches per hour at times.

* Timing...The snow will change to sleet, then rain by midday.
 The precipitation will change back to all snow before ending
 this evening.

* Impacts...Snow and sleet, with hazardous conditions at times
 this morning.

* Winds...North 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* Temperatures...In the upper 20s.

* Visibilities...One quarter mile or less at times.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or

Snowing really hard with huge flakes.  Cant stop looking out the window.  Don't want to miss any of this in case it turns back to sleet or rain!
