I went back to sleep, had to catch up on the read here, had huge flakes like many with sleet, then it went to mostly sleet now back to giant flakes but not heavy, I am glad I did not buy snow gear like I had planned, not going to complain but I do not think anyone in these areas can say they are happy. Congrats to those N/W My sister just txt me from syracuse they are getting 2 feet from this 7 hrs away wth? I can see it must b less than 6 inches out there.

Its just nutty out there, switching ratios of huge flakes and big sleet, back and forth constantly. Is the R/S line still moving north, BTW those radar echos are insane never seen 40-55 dbz during a snowstorm (or so to speak).

I just saw Bill Evans on TV. He is sticking with his snow map. Snow at 9 am is now coming down heavy with moderate sized flakes. Absent any significant wind, the snow if coming straight down and there appears to be little to no drifting. Does the wind pick up at any time today?

Bill also said many are without power this morning. I do not know where. At the coast?

I know some people appear to have busted on this storm particularly along the shore and maybe NYC and LI. But I won't call this a bust for my area. It is really bizarre and not quite what I expected, but not a bust. I've got about 6" of snow followed by going on about an hour now of the heaviest sleet I can remember with whipping winds. Plow trains just came down my street and were pushing a lot of white stuff (snow and sleet) out of the way.

Sleet and rain now even though radar shows me under snow, thats odd. Not really windy either i am diasappointed on both fronts but it is what it is. Hope you northern people cash in for me (as bitter as I am saying this LOL).

enjoy!! we feel a little sad, but its mother nature..just the thrill of the ups and downs of tracking and having a day home with the family is always a great thing..
