As bad as this non blizzard was for me(its probably the biggest weather disappointment of my life) i still managed to get as much snow as Red Sox Suck.

Ended up with about 17", still snowing, everything will need to be cleared again tomorrow AM, had 2 hrs of blizzard conditions and numerous 35+ wind gusts all day long, if we hadn't tainted with sleet we woulda broke 20" easy...

Armando Salvadore wrote:Well, fun storm to watch evolve, but results were obviously disappointing. As a met student, it was awesome to watch it all evolve and learn from! Received about 9.2" including that with sleet. Heaviest crap i've ever had to shovel! Anyway, at least i got to witness the heaviest rates with the biggest plate sized aggregates i've ever seen together, come down. Extraordinary! Time to relax now. Fun tracking with ya guys!
You were excellent. Thank you for contributing your thought's here. That goes to all the forecasters on here.

yea, alot of drifts. I measured in 3 different spots away from any drifts and thats what I came up with. Brings me to 58 inches this season so can't complain.

hyde345 wrote:That storm was a monster but it was just too close to the coast for many to cash in with big snows. I got 19 here in Hyde Park so I'm happy but the big winners are in central NYS with over 30 and still snowing.
Measure again later Hyde. It looks on radar like you've been under a pretty nice band the last hour, send it down here if you can.

Wow! The Conservancy probably decided to measure the snow a couple of hours ago. Since the 2 PM update, it went from 7.2" to 7.6."

Final snow blowing of the day done and final measurement for the storm.
20.8 inches now brings my seasonal total over 70 for the season.
I'll change my grade for the winter from a D to a C, one more decent size storm say 6-12 and a C+. It still can't make up for the warmest February and one of the warmest January and warmest endings to last two weeks of December.
On another note this will be the second time in the last 3 years that March was our snowiest month. I think it's trying to tell us it wants to be included in the contest. I've always thought of March as just another winter month and it's certainly proving it this year, so far at least.

Re: *Roidzilla 2017* - Final Call Snow Map / Observations
I just finished snow blowing. Im working 72 hour weeks right now on nights. My neighbors must love me. It was my one night off. Went to diner for dinner the only place open. Tipped 40 percent because anyone with work ethic to show up today deserves it. I measured 19 inches, I was excited about possibility of 24 plus. I have realized that it only takes 18 to make a storm epic. Good time my 19 month old is the next snow weenie. I tried to go out without him today and he was hysterical. I dressed him up and he followed me around with the biggest smile ever. Lastly compared to others in my area over last few winters I have realized I am very conservative with my measurements.
