Good eyeball measurement Doc, I just took the official and I measured 6.2 inches. Even if we don't get another inch, and I think we'll end up with 7-8, no complaints from me.
Still heavy snow but not as heavy as it was.

I was trying to check flight status of incoming flights, one got diverted to Detroit, a few others in the air still scheduled to land. Probably closed airport to departures. If he does get in, he may not be able to get home!
That was me. Just landed.

CP, I put markers on the fence in the back yard and use that for my "eyeball" measures,LOL.Still ripping good my Friend! Would love to hit that 8 inch mark!! Wind is howling here!
And yes, after that pathetic "around and inch" for us from NWS a few days ago, this is really a bonus!!! A wonderful day of observing and reading the reports from all over our forecast area.

Mine as well start fresh. Buy a home. Start a Vet practice. Detroit has more bad than good days, and their winters are mainly cold/dry, but you can make it work. And we'll always be here for you on NJ Strong.

I’ve always said, if a flight gets diverted no better place than Detroit.

Glad you are safely on the ground. Honestly, I wouldn't want to be on a plane trying to land at JFK today, wind is just horrible.

It’s here. Bring it on. Ripping here. Another two hours of this and we will add 4”+ easy. Shoveled with my daughter at 11:00. Had about a foot then. (Posted pics). Got 3” since to get me to 15”.

Measure 3 times. Once where it looks deepest. (Not drifts) Once where it looks the smallest and once in an average spot. Then get an average. Nice storm to begin your posts within!

It is very close to 8 inches here. It is snowing very lightly. To my surprise, while snow blowing the driveway I really did not see the trees swaying nor did I feel the wind. All in all a lovely storm.
