If you are above this blue line, then you will probably remain below freezing until at least mid afternoon. That will most likely be stubborn to move. The mid-levels I don't think will hold out too long for most.

Completely changed over to sleet within the last 15 minutes. Total of 0.5” of snow on the ground. Neutral

New update from Binghamton. Darn

1030 AM update...

Dual-pol radar depicts the mixed precipitation line entering
our southwestern forecast area at this time. The NamNest is
doing a good job with the changeover, and based on the latest
model output we are speeding up the changeover by 1-2 hours
across much of the I-81 corridor and areas northeastward.

The quicker changeover necessitated we lower the snowfall
amounts from the Twin Tiers southward.

925's haven't budged. 850's continue to creep toward TTN. This means extended sleet and my guess is surface doesn't get above freezing until this evening NW I95.

It seems to just be raining now. But weather.gov says it’s 25° and snowing where I am.

I really need to get myself a weather station.

Check this out. So 850 is steadily warming so soon there will be widespread sleet or ZR, however from CNJ on north into NNJ/NYC/LI/CT 925mb is extremely cold. This will create a set up for prolonged sleet and or ZR into much of the day into the evening

Sleet/ just coming down periodically. It' 28 with a real feel of 16. Winds ESE @ 9mph steady. Dewpoint is 24.

I wish I was better educated about the weather. I am trying. It's hard for me to understand why this isn't all snow.

1.5 inches so far. If we can get to 4 before the change to sleet I'll consider it a win.

35* in Bayville. Has been sleeting now, off and on, for a few hours. That's down at GSP mm 80 by the Toms River. I don't know if that is good or bad news for those of your further north.

Last night, as the snow started to really pick up and the radar seemed to be building even more to the north, it all shut down. Ha ha. Around midnight, the sky just said No Snow For You!
