Re: Back to Back Snow Events FEB 9th-11th
My guess is Thursday’s wave stays mostly south. I’m thinking Trenton and points south. Then the Friday wave will be more north bringing snow as north as NYC. So many fluctuations at the moment

Hmmm haven't looked at anything yet but it's not doing anything out now. My daughter's school called saying there's all remote today due to the weather. I thought Frank said 4am.

There is a ridge that may try to bring this system up further on Thursday night, but I think Mason Dixon Line on south seems a lot better the next several days.

Wow anyone see nam this morning today has 90% of the snow way up north of Rockland county and north west NJ. from NYC to there sees a dusting to a inch or 2 at most and most of NJ south of NW sees 0. NYC basically sees nada too. Mass has a WSW for 5 to 7. Looks like a swing and a miss today. Again I haven't seen radar but it's dry outside. And next system is wayyy to out south even some ticks north it's not go be close on nam

I certainly wasn't enthused about NYC's snow output on this one. The best lift will be to the north of this energy and that is NE.

really? Good for you glad someone's seeing snow. Looks like a miss here looking at radar. Silly they having the kids stay home remote today usually half go in today. Inclement weather? What weather lolCPcantmeasuresnow wrote:19° with moderate snow. A little over an inch so far.

I'm surprised they had your kids stay home. No models ever seemed to show much of a threat for right around NYC. You had to be 25 miles north or west it seemed to be in the accumulating snow for this one. Did they even have southern Westchetser in a WWA? I know they never had one for NYC.

All the schools are set up for distance learning now, so if there is even the remote possibility of liability they say "distance learning!" This doesn't surprise me at all. Its the world we live in.

Same report here CP.Intensity has been light/moderate so looks like that 4 inches NWS has will be a stretch unless this intensifies. We will see.

You can't win them all.
Last Monday when our area had 20-30 inches of snow, it rained in Boston and they ended up with 1.2 inches of snow in the city at the tail end of the storm. Nature has a way of evening things out.

Light snow, have a dusting now, and 23*. Looks like it's staying north, we may not get much more.

Well 1.8 inches seems to be the number so far.
Highland Mills in Orange County 1.8 inches and the snow has become light flurries. Temperature 20.3°.
If this is it models were pretty bad with this. Most had it snowing here until early afternoon with about 4 inches expected.

Looks to me this jogged north and we are done with this.Didn't like the intensity earlier, a weak system at best. But snow is snow, I will take the 1.8.Let's see if anything else happens.

I know I was be genuine in saying good for the northern people. I do not think we even see a flurry. It's fine, did I want a few inches sure! But you can't win them all for sure CP.CPcantmeasuresnow wrote:jmanley32 wrote:Wow anyone see nam this morning today has 90% of the snow way up north of Rockland county and north west NJ. from NYC to there sees a dusting to a inch or 2 at most and most of NJ south of NW sees 0. Scott, yes they are set up for remote and being in class is honestly just a way for parents to be able to work 2x a week. My daughter has no interaction with the teacher in the classroom, she's still on zoom lmao. Not sure how that even works as if you have several zooms going in same room you have bad feedback and echo sounds.

Re: Back to Back Snow Events FEB 9th-11th
Hey each amount just adds to the grand total, if we see many smal levents it can still add up to a lot. If we go by accuwx i am supposed to see 3-6 with 6-12 barely south of me yet the storm is modeled to go super far south, maybe SNJ doesn't even see a lot. You gotta agree accuwx and Bernie aren't looking at the same thing as we are.docstox12 wrote:CPcantmeasuresnow wrote:Well 1.8 inches seems to be the number so far.

25* and Cloudy here. No snow as yet. Not expecting much. Based on radar it looks like there could be a brief period of snow around her midday. But onto Thursdays storm for me.

There's a decent SE ridge in the Atlantic. My thought now is moderate amount of snow (3"-6") NJ I-78 South is possible by Friday afternoon with all of these waves and significant amounts staying at or below South Jersey to Mason Dixon Line. The spacing is not ideal and that is my biggest concern.
