Re: JAN 6th-7th Storm Part II
Rain/snow mix here in New Rochelle, no accumulation, don't expect any for the rest of the storm, let's see how long we can extend this snow drought, on to the next!

I lied. Back to snow in midtown with heavier precipitation. When it's light - it's rain. A wet mess outside.

Its all about elevation at this point still mod to heavy snow here. But not accumulating as it should. Still slushy but at least its something. Let ya know frank about that red zone…should be coming through here in next 20. Radar showing some sleet here but its still all snow

I know it's like 3 miles from here. One kick in the nuts after another. What can you do.

Looks to me like it’s starting to pivot and kick east. IF true, that would halt the transition line in its tracks.

Not only has it halted; in some spots it has retrograded. Which I guess in this corner of the state wasn’t unexpected once the Low got east of us

And now its snow and rain. I font hear much on AC so it must b msinly snow. Hopefully this is a chsnge for better. Lets see. There has to be something going on with the temp levels in the atmosphere here as we are nowhere near the r/s line.

Still snowing at 32 degrees, with large flakes and a notable uptick in the wind. Not quite an inch on the street and inch plus on cooler surfaces.
It smells so good outside!

I was kidding, relax lol without actually being able to sit down and study it, I can’t answer. If I had to take a guess, I’d say it could be funneled air advecting in from Long Island Sound, which warmer, and mixing just enough air to the north and east of the City so that the column is just slightly above freezing in the lowest few hundred feet. And then deeper into the City it’s not as big an issue because the enhanced friction from the buildings helps to stop it. Just a guess though.

Click the image of the thing that looks like a floppy disc and a computer screen, immediately to the left of the blue square with the green and white “+” symbol. That will let you select images from your device, then click the blue and white arrow to upload. Once uploaded, click the chat bubble icon to the right of the middle image address, which will insert it into your response. Then submit your response. Hope that helps!
