Re: January 23, 2016 Roidzilla Observations
I just told Frank and Scott this in a private message:
Like with the other storms earlier this month, 7-10 days out, I was VERY skeptical of the snow potential for this time frame and the fact that I had not had measurable snowfall yet didn't help. Late Saturday night, I came home and saw the HRRR for Sunday the 17th indicating snow. As the snow is about to get underway with the ripe for snow conditions and it combined with the fact that I saw the ECMWF the potential snow coming up for the weekend, I ended my 9 month+ long hiatus from weatherbell and resubscribed. It was fun to track. I'll explain more giving my perspective of the last week later on.

[quote="CPcantmeasuresnow"]Didn't really startup here until 8AM it pretty much stopped for an hour when the pivot started at 2:00 and now since 3:15 it's been gang busters again.
11.0 inches here as of five minutes ago and 0 inches 20 miles north of me.
Unbelievable cutoff all day long. I feel for all my HV friends north of that line I've been there and it sucks when it happens to you. Anything more for me is gravy at this point.[/quote
I'm happy for you CP. I know you have been in my position before. Watched virga all day. Saw about 2 flakes. I'm so pissed especially when I have only had 1.5 this entire winter. Charlotte, Kentucky, Tennessee, Atlanta all have more than me this winter.

Don't look now, but European has Strat PV split at hr 48 at 50mb, hr 84 at 30mb and elongates and displaces the crap out of it by day6-7 at 10mb. Exciting times ahead for sure.

Re: January 23, 2016 Roidzilla Observations
Classic cold conveyor banding here right now, absolutely dumping. Seems like well over two feet but will have to wait for daylight to dig out from latest round and measure. Cant even open any outside doors atm.jmanley32 wrote:Im right in that sweet training dark green been awesome.amugs wrote:WINDS ARE HOWLING AND PUKING SNOW NOW FOR THE LAST 1/2 HR 45 MIN HERE.
