That's crazy as much. As I like this storm it hurts to miss the record by so little

They're seriously laughing about it on TWC right now. They can't believe it either.

That band look like it missed most of Manhattan...at least appears so on radar.
It was close though, hope to squeeze a couple tenths of an inch out.

Twc claims that NYC needs 1/10 of an inch to tie record , how the hell is that possible

Yeah I know. Old days joke. It's like missing the game winning field goal with no time left (sorry any Vikings fans). Please let a last minute burst develop.Abba701 wrote:crippo84 wrote:You gotta be kidding me. Going with 32" storm total. Best measurement I could get from observations around me (just took a walk) and gather from reports around me.

Re: January 23, 2016 Roidzilla Observations
Just woke up to add another log to the wood burner and had to check in. Still snowing lightly and another pretty heavy band dropping in from ct. Got another 1.5" since I went to bed. Dry and fluffy. Next town over had an official measurement of 27" at 9 pm and we've added since by a couple. This band will help me make a run at 30" and the city will break the record easy

.............by the way for the record. 26 consecutive hours of snowfall and counting on Long Island without any mixing at all during a hellnino year. Has to be some kind of record

Re: January 23, 2016 Roidzilla Observations
Guys...just looked cause I'm bored but really Long range did a really good job predicting this storm. We can't expect it to nail down totals from 7 days out but it actually is pretty impressive. Some quotes from a week ago:
Sat Jan 16, 2016 11:53 am....and on til sunday
I'm hearing the Canadian shows a HECS???
Gfs cmc and ukie all showing a good to great storm.
The UKMET is consistent with pumping the ridge. This would surely be a hit.
MADONNE on the NAVGEM
Please let the 00z GFS verify. Thanks.
Euro showing big Improvements - HR 87 closed off
still closed at 93 and 96 SHOW TIME!!

Grselig, those "Trained Spotters" were all trained by the Zookeeper, disregard them and measure yourself.

At least 26 inches here. Just north of sunrise highway. Amazing. We walked through the village Massapequa park around 730 last night. Snowing sideways and buried

Cousins. It's a known fact that when it snows they all drink gallons of the cheapest Baileys they can find and use rulers that are from 72 also (1972) with other markings wiped away. If only they drank the homemade stuff with Jameson instead of the Shine.
