Re: May 2020 Observations & Discussions
Another ho hum day, currently 52° intermittent sun and clouds with an occasional brief shower. Looks like possible record cold tonight and tomorrow night.Hoping for turn around by the end of the week with temps approaching 80° on Friday. That will be a welcome change. Still have heating system turning on at night, but the one caveat with that is home heating oil can be had for $1.13 a gallon. It's times like these when I wish I had a 500 gallon tank. Regular gas at Bj's $1.61 a gallon. Remember a few summers back when it was over $4.00 a gallon?

Cold morning but shaping up for a nice afternoon. The temps coming up will be much more May appropriate. And with beaches reopened I hope Memorial Day weekend continues that warming trend.

GFS saying a phase of this trop cyclone hat will bring copious amounts of rain and wind from Monday late through Tuesday if crrect:
Winds - NE/Easterly fetch = beach erosion and coastal flooding

Re: May 2020 Observations & Discussions
Looks like a bunch of different storm systems to track in the next 7-10 days one tomorrow with possible severe storms and even the slight chance of tornadoes. So is potential arthur going to interact with some other system to give us that crazy 3-5 inches of rain? Can't say I am looking forward to that at all. At least memorial day is shot so we dont have to be upset about weather related cancellations. Though I am not sure about NJ plans for memorial day. RI plans to have its beaches open, they think they going to stop people at the border you want a lawsuit governor? It's illegal to ban interstate travel so if you wanna go go!

Re: May 2020 Observations & Discussions
Atmosphere will be boiling tomorrow: High temps and high dewpoints. I’m expecting a good round of possibly severe T’Storms tomorrow late afternoon/evening. Then it looks like a lot of rain chances next week with that disturbance spinning off the East Coast.

Looks like the severe threat has shifted the worst well to the north. Northern Hudson Valley and central NY look to have best chance. Of course the spc outlook could still change.

Don’t kill my joy. I’ve got no sports, no bars, and no gym. I need at least some thunder and lightning in my life. And c’mon; I know you’ll be sitting by your window with some Nutella waiting for these storms to roll in tonight.

Hold, on friend, it's field day for the kids! lets not ruin this morning. However, I'm all in for thunder, lightning, hale and locusts later today, after 3. I hope we can compromise on this situation. Its for the kids!
I hate not having my gym. Working out in the back yard, but I have no heavy weights. Better cardio and leaner, but not the same. Still, far better than nothing.

Your request is eminently reasonable. I will compromise. No thunderboomers before 3 pm. We’ll keep any atmospheric pyrotechnics and locusts to after 8 pm.
And on the gym issue I’ve been doing more cardio and body weight exercises but like you I do miss the wider selection of exercises at the gym.

Jeeze that wil lcause some issues, even with lower precip than usual. I dunno how much storms will affect the southern areas as SPC as I said moved the highest area now into central NY. Yes I hope we get a massive t-storm.Sanchize06 wrote:Euro still showing widespread 4-7" of rain throughout the week

Sunny and 84* with a dewpoint of 60*. Perfect conditions for some storms. May catch a “break” (If you don’t like storms) in that the main line arrives after sunset so the atmosphere may not be as juiced.

Let’s hope there are no breaks. We need good storms. Field day is over. May they be biblical (in a good way where nobody gets hurt).
