Heavier bands made a huge jump north the last few minutes.

Moderate snow now.

Guys, it is snow like crazy here I just heard a loud thunder and snow rates may be 3"/hr. The wind has picked up significantly. A giant is roaring up. I have 3-4 feet of drifts in my patio. This storm is something.

I'm across the Kill Van Kull from you and was surprised to wake up with these increased numbers from when I went to sleep last night and official Roidzilla status in the banner.

When I looked out the window at 4am I saw about 2-3 inches on the tops of bushes in some areas, but a lot of the street and sidewalks were clear because of the wind! No plow has come through yet.

Drifting is getting bad already. In some places I see it's blown up to the third step on the staircases across the street from me already.

I don't think we'll be leaving the house for a few days.

Dry air is streaming up the coast. Once the low begins tracking east it should begin to pivot the CCB over us.

Simply amazing.  Just look at where the moisture plume starts.  Trop Pacific and Trp Atlantic.  Rides the warm air conveyor belt and becomes the elusive "White Gold"
