Central Park came in with 14.7 inches a little while ago. That moves Jonas into number 20 all time destined obviously to go much higher.

In light of tracking this storm, can any of the vets here shine light on what we learned from the model runs and is there any concise logic we use to determine why models agreed early on, than basically fought each other at the onset of the storm? And what we can depend on in the future? doesnt have to be answered now, maybe a post storm write-up. Many thanks to the vets and mets on here, many told me I was the first to mention this storm, all thanks to you guys!

Mesoscale models - such as the NAM, RPM, SREFS, etc. - handled this storm the best because they do not suffer convective feedback from the anomalous bands like the Global models do. Once we got closer in range and models were able to see the dynamics of the storm, the global models began to form 2-3 different surface low's because they had no clue which one to key in on. Part of it is the enhanced sub-tropical jet stream due to the strong El Nino over the Tropical Pacific. We also have a northern jet phasing into the STJ providing even more dynamics.

Snow bands in northern areas will begin sagging south as the primary low off the coast of Delmarva begins to weaken and a new low forms southeast of the BM.

I'm guessing that's pretty much it for northern areas after the bands sag south? RAP has 8-12 additional inches for me.

I don't think that is true. The RAP I see on WxBell has 4-8" left for pretty much everyone. That sounds too low, though. It also has the storm ending by 8-9pm.

RAP was posted around 45 minutes ago showing 8-12 my area, 12-18 for the city and NNJ.
Not sure if it's additional or not. Some on the other board said it is.

Skins, I agree we will be making the run for 30+!!! I measured a while ago and we were at 19.75, but it has been dumping snow since.

Consider yourself lucky. Here in Hyde Park I have zero and have been looking at virga all day. I'm happy that everybody else got blitzed but it's so damn frustrating condidering how this winter has gone.

Vinny I am not sure but I do not think I have a lot more than that, its been only moderate here for quite some time, any reports out of this area? In some spots it was around the top of my boots which is about a foot. I think it may be a bit more, we have quite a few hrs to go and those bands are gonna rotate through here and all we need is a few hrs of nutty rates to get to where others are at.
